On 13 February 2025, France notified the European Commission of the draft decrees providing for the calculation method and procedures for the voluntary display of the environmental score of clothing, following a national public consultation organised at the end of 2024.
Now that the first three-month deadline for the Commission to give its opinion is under way, we are offering a webinar to provide an update on the content of these texts and their potential impact, particularly in relation to the European PEF project:
- Overview of the European PEF Initiative –
Brief reminder of its objectives and key principles. - Details of the French Initiative and Recent Developments –
Brief overview of the context and history, with a focus on the draft decrees regarding criteria, calculation methods, display requirements, and sanctions. - Challenges in Aligning PEF with the French Rules –
Key points on potential conflicts, stakeholder reactions from the public consultation on the decrees in France, possible outcome from the procedure before the EU Commission, next steps.
A dedicated Q&A session will allow participants to address specific concerns about compliance and strategic adaptation.
Speakers:
- Glynnis Makoundou
French lawyer specializing in business law in the fashion industry - Marc Rabah
Head of Hohenstein Academy
